I have accumulated the total hours for each of the CAS criterias:

Creativity- 110.5 hours

Active- 86 hours

Service- 61 hours

CAS Project (Progress #3)

So far, I have been able to collect $50, and also spread awareness about the Henry Doorly Zoo organization.  Until the end of my senior year, I will have many photo sessions and continue to donate 5% from each of them, in order to meet a the goal of $75 to donate to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Nebraska.

HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) Area IV Spring Leadership Conference

Service

Last weekend, I served as a courtesy corp, voting delegate, and competitor for HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America)'s annual Area IV Spring Leadership Conference held at OL Slaton this year. This organization's goal is to spread the impact and awareness of the medical field and its importance in our community.  I served as a victim for a competitive event (Sports Medicine) and also competed in the event, Researched  Persuasive Speaking on the topic of Hospital Hiring Practices: Persons who smoke or have visible tattoos need not apply. In my event, I had to persuade the judges about my side, to be for the hospital hiring practices, through a 4 minute speech and a written essay.  This experience was unforgettable, because I met people who were just as interested about serving the community in the medical field as I am.  I hope to see more of the younger generations to be involved in organizations similar to HOSA.
